Science National Honor Society

Description: The Conestoga Valley Science National Honor Society is a local chapter of the Science National Honor Society. There are 1620 chapters in the US and its territories. The Society’s goal is to; encourage participation in and recognition of scientific and intellectual thought, advance the students’ knowledge of classical and modern science, communicate with the scientific community, and aid the civic community with its comprehension of science. Further, the Society endeavors to encourage students to participate in community service, and, in turn, encourages a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all mankind.
Meeting Time/Location:
Membership: Students in the CVSNHS are rising juniors and seniors that qualify, apply and are selected between March and April of each school year. The society’s year runs from May 1 of the current school year to April 30 of the following year. Qualifying members are students who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (a minimum 3.5 average in all honors, AP, and advanced STEM classes), and have completed a requisite number of honors, AP, and/or advanced STEM classes within the Science, Math, and Technology Education Departments. In addition, a $20 membership fee is used towards our national charter fees and to purchase honor cords for our seniors
