Virtual Drive Online Course
Online, Student-Directed Learning, “Virtual Drive”
“Virtual Drive” is a new online course component in the driver’s ed program. “Virtual Drive” is a Pennsylvania state-approved, 30-hour, online course recognized by most insurance companies to qualify students for a reduction in auto insurance premiums for newly-licensed teen drivers (in conjunction with behind-the-wheel instruction outlined on the next page).
Enrollment takes place during designated periods in the fall, winter and spring and is open to all CV students no sooner than three months before their 16th birthday. The online nature of the course allows students to set the pace of their own learning and parents/guardians are encouraged to join in the learning process.
Successful completion of the online course requires the student to pass a final exam given at periodic intervals at the high school and monitored by the CV course administrator.
